Data Deletion Request

In accordance with Google Play and Apple App Store user data policies, Bookmarkt provides users with direct and simple ways to delete their accounts and associated data.

Method 1: In-App Self-Service Deletion (Immediate)

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the Bookmarkt mobile application:

1. Open the Bookmarkt app.
2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon).
3. Tap on Your data.
4. Scroll down and select Delete account and data.
5. Confirm your decision.

Once confirmed, your account credentials, reading notes, quotes, book tracking, and session histories are immediately and permanently removed from our primary database.

Method 2: Web / Email Deletion Request

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot log in, you can request that our support team delete your account and data:

Send an email to support@bookmarkt.io with the subject line "Account and Data Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your Bookmarkt account.

Our team will verify ownership and process the complete deletion of your account and associated records within 30 days.

Types of Data Deleted and Retention Periods

• User profile & credentials: Email address and authentication IDs are deleted immediately upon account deletion.
• Reading journal data: All logged books, reading sessions, timers, entries, quotes, and reflections are permanently purged immediately.
• AI & feature data: Cached comprehension scores, companion conversation history, and cue card stats are permanently deleted immediately.
• Billing transaction records: Historical purchase/subscription events sent by Google Play are retained solely for mandatory tax, legal, and accounting compliance purposes as required by law.
• Data retention: We do not retain any personal reading content after account deletion has been processed.
